Plans for the annual ATTA Variety Show is underway! Mark your calendar for Saturday, July 31st. It's at Jungle (2115 Faulkner Road NE, Atlanta, GA 30324). Doors will open at 6:30pm and the show will begin at 7pm; a $5 cover fee is appreciated at the door. You may reserve a table near the stage for you and 5 of your friends with a generous donation of $100 (this includes entrance to the show). Tables are limited and are going quick, so reserve yours now. Already, we have Zerena Loo and Luscious Ling-Ling returning. New to our stage are ATTA member Jen Luna and her friend Dan Weeks, who are comedians in the Atlanta community. In addition, Nat Aryucharoen has generously donated one of his artwork, "In the Bowler Hat," to be auctioned at the show. Registration is Open for The 2010 Peach, to be held on Labor Day weekend (Friday, Sept 3 through Monday, Sept 6) and is a sanctioned tournament on the Gay and Lesbian Tennis Alliance (GLTA) tour. The Peach has men's and women's singles, doubles and mixed doubles in divisions Open, A, B, C and D (with sufficient entries), and some separate events for players over 40 years old. Players from all over the U.S. and abroad participate every year. In addition to being a fun and competitive tournament, The Peach donates net proceeds to local charities; this year's beneficiaries are expected to be YouthPride, the Atlanta Lesbian Health Initiative, Positive Impact and the Chris Lester Scholarship Fund. The registration deadline is Thursday, Aug 12. Everyone who enters by the Early Bird deadline of Monday, July 5 will be entered into a drawing to have their entry fee refunded. ATTA had strong representation at the 2010 Bluegrass Tennis Open held in Louisville, KY. Chris Walling was the Men Open Doubles finalist and the Men A Singles semifinalist. John Andersen/Dwayne Wasson were quarterfinalists in the Men B Doubles. Congratulation guys! |
